Description

The exhibition hall "Lonja del Pescado" is a curious building in modernist style with North African elements, built in the early twentieth century (1917-1921) by the engineer Próspero Lafarga.

The building consists of a longitudinal nave with various transverses and large semi interior court yards, passed on to the council of Alicante, which restored it and dedicated its use as an exhibition hall, inaugurated as such in 1992.

As an exhibition space, throughout its history there have been numerous exhibitions, (paintings, sculptures, history, nature ...) and activities, (future New Market, puppet festivals, book launches, delivering Azorín awards, etc)
